SOA Engineering (Service Oriented Architecture)

In order to equalize business on all levels, ICT has to be able to deal with the challenge of integration of various software solutions.

COMBIS introduces the SOA engineering as a concept that enables easier and faster integration of the existing applicative solutions, which is a key success factor in implementation of complex systems. It is important to emphasise that all COMBIS' solutions are modular and flexible and are following the existing business processes within the company. In other words, as the business processes changes, the solutions are changing, along with the applications that support them. This is especially important in more frequent processes of mergers and acquisitions, where it is necessary to consolidate the existing applications and systems with the new ones and vice versa.

The methodology of projecting complex software systems that is applied in COMBIS, is based on newest trends in the global ICT industry. In order to secure high level of quality and project successfulness, COMBIS applies elements of Rational Unified Process (RUP). The advantage of RUP methodology is Iterative Development, with the reference to the system delivery in several phases. This method reduces technological and business risks of the project, and the user is provided with the possibility of an early insight to the final system, which ultimately results in minimizing the deviations from the user’s expectations.

Through application of SOA, one achieves:

  • The possibility to prompt new applications development, and thus a fast response to the new and different demands in business surroundings;
  • The preservation of the existing investments, by integration of the existing applications and adjustment of the new applications, from the elements of the existing ones and
  • Optimal control of IT resources.
